Not gram for gram. A scoop adds bulk protein; the Aminos give you all 9 essential amino acids in free form, the part of protein your body can't make. Many people use them instead of a daily shake and keep eating protein at meals. If you train hard or follow a protein target, keep eating protein foods too.
Protein has to be broken down into amino acids before your body can use it. Free-form amino acids are already in that form, so they don't need to be digested first.*
