We also collect information automatically when you use our site, such as your IP address, device and browser identifiers, pages viewed, searches, and how you interact with our pages (including session recordings). If you use our on-site chat assistant, we collect what you type, which may include health information you choose to share.

To advertise and to measure our advertising
(we and our advertising partners use information about your visits and purchases to show you relevant ads and to measure how our ads perform; see "Advertising and analytics partners" below)

How do we protect your information?

We implement a variety of security measures to maintain the safety of your personal information when you place an order or enter, submit, or access your personal information.

Our website incorporates physical, electronic, and administrative procedures to safeguard the confidentiality of your personal information, including Secure Sockets Layer ("SSL") for all financial transactions through the Site. We use SSL encryption to protect your personal information online, and we also take several steps to protect your personal information in our facilities. Access to your personal information is restricted. Only employees who need access to your personal information to perform a specific job are granted access to your personal information. Finally, we rely on third-party service providers for the physical security of some of our computer hardware. We have chosen them specifically because we believe that their security procedures are more than adequate.

While we use industry-standard precautions to safeguard your personal information, we cannot guarantee complete security. 100% complete security does not presently exist anywhere online or offline.

We do not store full payment card numbers. Payments are processed by our payment providers.

Do we use cookies?

Yes (Cookies are small files that a site or its service provider transfers to your computer's hard drive through your Web browser (if you allow) that enables the site's or service provider's systems to recognize your browser and capture and remember certain information.)

We use cookies to help us remember and process the items in your shopping cart, understand and save your preferences for future visits and compile aggregate data about site traffic and site interaction so that we can offer better site experiences and tools in the future. We and our partners also use cookies, pixels and similar technologies to measure and personalize advertising. We may contract with third-party service providers to assist us in better understanding our site visitors. Some of these providers, including our advertising partners, may also use information they collect through our site for their own purposes, as described in "Advertising and analytics partners" below.

If you prefer, you can choose to have your computer warn you each time a cookie is being sent, or you can choose to turn off all cookies via your browser settings. Like most websites, if you turn your cookies off, some of our services may not function properly.

Do we disclose any information to outside parties?

We share information with service providers who help us operate our website, conduct our business, or serve you (for example hosting, payment processing, order fulfillment, email, customer service and our chat assistant), so long as those parties agree to keep this information confidential. We may also release your information when we believe release is appropriate to comply with the law, enforce our site policies, or protect our or others' rights, property, or safety.

Advertising and analytics partners

We share certain personal information with advertising partners, including Google, Meta (Facebook and Instagram), Microsoft (Bing), TikTok, Pinterest, tvScientific and Northbeam. We do this to measure how our ads perform, to show you relevant ads, and to build advertising audiences, including audiences of our existing customers. This can include:

  • cookie, device and advertising identifiers (including ad-click identifiers), your IP address and browser information
  • general location, such as your country
  • pages you view, searches you make, and how you interact with our site
  • purchase details, such as order ID and value, products purchased, coupon codes used, subscription status, and cancellation reasons you give us
  • your email address and, for some partners, your phone number, name and postal address. Some partners receive these in hashed (coded) form, so they can match them to an account you have with them.

These partners may collect information about your online activities over time and across different websites.

Under some U.S. state privacy laws, this may be a "sale" or "sharing" of personal information, or "targeted advertising." Depending on where you live, you may have the right to opt out. You can opt out at any time at zumanutrition.com/pages/data-sharing-opt-out. Opting out there applies to the browser you use. If you also email customerservice@zumanutrition.com with the subject "Privacy Request", we will apply your opt-out to that email address too. Where required by law, we treat a Global Privacy Control signal (a setting in some browsers and extensions) as a request to opt out for that browser. We do not otherwise respond to browser "Do Not Track" signals.

We also use analytics and marketing service providers, including Klaviyo, PostHog, Hotjar and UpSellit, and we run affiliate and creator programs through Shopify Collabs, impact.com and GoAffPro. They process information such as your email address, name, order details, and how you use our site (including session recordings) on our behalf, under contracts that limit their use of it.

You can manage Google ad personalization at adssettings.google.com. You can learn how Google uses information from sites that use its services at policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites.

We do not sell health information you share with our chat assistant, and we do not share it with advertising partners.

California Online Privacy Protection Act Compliance

How we respond to "Do Not Track" signals, and whether other parties collect information about your online activities over time and across websites, is described in "Advertising and analytics partners" above. We will post any changes to this policy on this page and update the dates at the top of this policy.

Children's Privacy

Our online store is intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13, and we do not knowingly sell or share the personal information of anyone under 18. Some of our personal-care products are made for use by children, but they are sold to adults. If you believe a child has given us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.

This privacy policy applies to information we collect through our website, our customer service channels (including email and chat), and your orders.

Terms and Conditions

Please also visit our Terms and Conditions section establishing the use, disclaimers, and limitations of liability governing the use of our website below.

Your Consent

When you provide us with personal information to complete a transaction, verify your credit card, place an order, arrange for a delivery or return a purchase, we imply that you consent to our collecting it and using it for that reason and for the other purposes described in this policy. If we ask for your personal information for a secondary reason, like marketing, we will either ask you directly for your expressed consent, or provide you with an opportunity to say no. After you opt-in you may withdraw your consent for us to contact you for the continued collection, use or disclosure of your information at any time by contacting us at customerservice@zumanutrition.com.

Your privacy rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or get a copy of your personal information, and to opt out of its sale, sharing, or use for targeted advertising. To make a request, email customerservice@zumanutrition.com with the subject "Privacy Request," or use the opt-out page above. We verify requests by matching the information you provide to our records. An authorized agent may submit a request with your signed permission. If we deny your request, you may appeal by replying with the subject "Appeal." If you disagree with the outcome, you may contact your state Attorney General. We will not discriminate against you for exercising these rights. We do not collect, use or sell personal information to train large language models or other AI models.

What we collect and how long we keep it

In the past 12 months we collected identifiers, commercial information (such as purchase history, subscription status and cancellation reasons), internet activity, and, if you chose to share it, health information. We sold or shared identifiers, commercial information and internet activity with the advertising partners described above. We use health information you share with our chat assistant only to respond to you, to provide the products and services you request, and, in aggregate, to understand what customers ask about.

How long we keep it:

  • order records: as long as needed for tax, accounting and legal purposes
  • marketing information: until you ask us to delete it. If you unsubscribe, we keep your email address on a do-not-email list so we don't email you again
  • chat conversations: up to 24 months
  • identifiers we hold for measuring our advertising (such as hashed contact details and ad-click identifiers): up to 24 months after your last activity
  • records of individual order events: personal details are removed after about 90 days, and the remaining records are kept for up to 7 years

Partners keep what they receive under their own policies.

Changes to our Privacy Policy

If we decide to change our privacy policy, we will post the changes on this page and update the dates at the top of this policy.
